Pirates place Bastardo on paternity list

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed pitcher Antonio Bastardo on the paternity list prior to Monday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Bastardo, acquired from the Phillies in December, has a 6.43 ERA in just seven innings this season.

The Pirates recalled left-hander Bobby LaFromboise from Triple-A Indianapolis to take the empty spot in the bullpen. He made six appearances for the Pirates last season, allowing one run in 3 2/3 innings.
