National League Game Summary - Los Angeles at San Francisco

Tim Lincecum tossed six innings of one-run ball and the San Francisco Giants ended the Los Angeles Dodgers' seven-game win streak with a 6-2 decision on Tuesday in the opener of a three- game set.

Lincecum (1-1) yielded five hits and three walks but limited the high-scoring Dodgers offense to just one run while striking out five.

Jeremy Affeldt tossed a clean seventh and two pitchers took care of the eighth before Jean Machi ran into trouble trying to close out the game.

The big righty allowed two hits and a walk to load the bases before giving way to Santiago Casilla, whose first pitch trickled past catcher Andrew Susac to make it 6-2. But Justin Turner grounded to second on the very next pitch, ending the threat and the game.

Justin Maxwell homered, tripled and scored three runs for the Giants, who have won two of three following an 0-8 stretch.

"Good win for us," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "It's been a tough homestand, but the boys played well tonight."

San Francisco did most of its damage in the first four innings.

Maxwell's triple with two gone in the second extended the inning for Brandon Crawford, whose bunt single made it 1-0.

More infield singles plagued LA an inning later, when Joe Panik and Angel Pagan reached consecutively and Buster Posey doubled the score with a bloop into left-center.

With runners on second and third and two away in the fourth inning, Nori Aoki beat out an infield single to first. Maxwell scored easily, and Crawford came around on Adrian Gonzalez's third error of the season.

Brett Anderson (1-1) was responsible for all four runs on nine hits and he was pulled after four innings.

Juan Nicasio and Adam Liberatore each tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings, but Pedro Baez served up Maxwell's two-run shot in the eighth that gave the Giants a five-run advantage.

Alex Guerrero's pinch-hit double in the fifth inning plated Juan Uribe for LA's first run.
