Joc Pederson went 3-for-4 and also hit his first MLB homer, Yasiel Puig went deep and Jimmy Rollins added an RBI for the Dodgers, who salvaged the three- game series with the win.

Los Angeles avoided its first winless series against the D-backs since dropping three straight May 6-8, 2013.

Zack Greinke (1-0) was brilliant for the Dodgers, pitching seven scoreless innings and striking out seven.

Josh Collmenter (0-2) gave up three runs on nine hits over five innings of work for Arizona. A.J. Pollock had three RBI in the loss.

Los Angeles, which scored one run in each inning from the third to the seventh, broke through in the third inning with some small ball. Pederson led off with a double, moved over on Greinke's bunt and scored on Rollins' sacrifice fly to center.

Yasmani Grandal and Andre Ethier both singled with one out in the fourth, then Guerrero chased Grandal home with a base hit. Pederson followed with an infield single to load the bases, but Collmenter struck out Greinke before getting Rollins to ground out to end the threat.

Puig sent Collmenter's 3-2 cutter over the wall in left center for a 3-0 lead after five, and Pederson added his first career homer an inning later to extend the margin.

Guerrero's RBI knock in the seventh brought home Adrian Gonzalez for a 5-0 lead. He then hit a two-run shot to left in the ninth to make it a seven-run game.

Arizona plated four in the home ninth, with Pollock's three-run double highlighting the frame. Joel Peralta picked up his second save of the season for getting the last out.
