American League Game Summary - Seattle at Oakland

Mark Canha smacked a two-run homer among his three hits and three runs scored, Drew Pomeranz tossed seven shutout innings and the Oakland Athletics routed the Seattle Mariners 12-0 in the opener of a three-game set.

Pomeranz (1-0) scattered two hits and struck out six for the A's, who split their season-opening four-game series against Texas.

Ike Davis tallied three hits, four RBI and a pair of runs scored, while Ben Zobrist posted two doubles and scored twice in the triumph.

Taijuan Walker (0-1) allowed nine runs on nine hits and two walks for Seattle, which has dropped three straight since winning on Opening Day against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The A's raced out to an 11-0 lead through four innings after plating three runs in the first, two in the second and six more in the fourth.

Zobrist smacked an RBI double into the gap in right center, while Davis and Stephen Vogt added RBI singles in the opening frame. Canha belted his two-run shot over the wall in left center in the second for a 5-0 advantage.

Davis ripped a two-run double, Marcus Semien had a two-run single and Sam Fuld and Billy Butler added run-scoring base hits as part of Oakland's six-run sixth for an 11-0 cushion.

Davis' RBI double in the eighth capped the scoring.
