Dempsey out 2-3 weeks with hamstring injury

Seattle Sounders FC will be without forward Clint Dempsey for the next 2-3 weeks after the captain of the United States national team suffered a hamstring injury in training.

Dempsey was training with the national team in Switzerland ahead of a pair of upcoming friendlies in Europe when he suffered the injury, and he has returned to Seattle to receive treatment.

The injury will prevent Dempsey from featuring in this Saturday's match at FC Dallas, while he is also unlikely to play a part in Seattle's contest with Houston on April 4.

His status for the April 12 showdown against the Los Angeles Galaxy is still up in the air, and the team will be hopeful that he can return at that point with Dempsey enjoying a strong start to the season having netted three goals with one assist in the opening two fixtures.
