Atlanta has already set a single-season franchise record with 23 road wins.
Jeff Teague scored a team-high 23 points and handed out six assists as the Hawks improved to 3-1 on a six-game road trip that continues Wednesday against the Western Conference-leading Warriors.
DeMarre Carroll made three of Atlanta's 12 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in the club's third straight win.
Sacramento returned home following a 2-6 road trip and turned the ball over 20 times. DeMarcus Cousins gave it up five times to offset an otherwise solid 20- point, 13-rebound effort.
The Hawks led 82-76 entering the fourth quarter and were in danger of going down in the closing minutes. Andre Miller, though, missed a baseline jumper, and Kent Bazemore connected on a corner 3-pointer at the other end for a 103-99 Atlanta lead.
Teague followed a Cousins miss with a floater, and the Hawks held on from there.
A tight first quarter ended with Shelvin Mack beating the buzzer with a 3- pointer to pull the Hawks within 29-28.
Teague scored seven points on a 9-0 run late in the second quarter, and Atlanta brought a 54-47 cushion into the locker room.
The Hawks rested All-Star forward Al Horford, while Kyle Korver sat out because of a broken nose suffered on Sunday. Korver will miss at least two more games ... Sacramento's Rudy Gay was sidelined with a strained left patellar tendon ... Sacramento has not beaten the Hawks since Feb. 20, 2008.
