Wade returns, helps Miami Heat rout New York Knicks

The Miami Heat got one star back, but don't know the immediate future of their other one.

Dwyane Wade returned to score 12 points, Shabazz Napier led eight Miami players in double figures with 18 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists, and the Heat cruised to a 111-87 win over the New York Knicks.

Wade had missed Miami's last seven games due to a hamstring strain.

Miami received some discouraging news regarding Chris Bosh earlier Friday. Various media outlets have reported that Bosh is undergoing tests on his lungs, possibly for blood clots. If blood clots are detected, the All-Star forward's season could come to an end.

Bosh did not feel well upon his return to the team Thursday after the All-Star break. He was in New York for the All-Star Game last weekend, then went to Haiti for a mini vacation with teammate Wade and their wives.

Luol Deng provided 13 points, eight boards and eight helpers for Miami, which had dropped six of its last eight games. Mario Chalmers supplied 13 points, eight steals, seven assists and five rebounds, while Hassan Whiteside posted 12 points and nine rebounds.

Langston Galloway netted 19 points for the Knicks, who learned Wednesday that Carmelo Anthony will miss the rest of the season due to a lingering left knee injury. Anthony had surgery on the knee Thursday.

New York has lost six in a row.

The Heat, who trailed 26-25 following a quarter of play, began to pull away during the latter stages of the second.

After Lou Amundson's alley-oop layup pulled the Knicks within 45-43 at the 4:57 mark of the frame, Miami responded with a 9-1 spurt. Tyler Johnson capped the surge with a 3-pointer for a 54-44 spread.

Jose Calderon's layup in the waning seconds of the half cut the New York deficit to 58-48 heading into the break.

The Heat closed the third on a 14-4 surge to extend the margin even further. Chalmers knocked down a triple and sunk two free throws before Chris Andersen's putback layup concluded the burst and made the score 87-68.

Miami cruised to the easy win in the fourth, leading by as many as 28.
