Pittsburgh Penguins visit Ottawa Senators, try to secure fourth victory in five games

The Pittsburgh Penguins aim to secure a fourth victory in five games on Thursday night when they visit the Ottawa Senators.

The Penguins began a three-game swing through Western Canada with a pair of wins over Edmonton and Calgary, shutting out both clubs with Marc-Andre Fleury in net.

Fleury then got the night off on Saturday versus Vancouver, with Thomas Greiss in net for a 5-0 setback, before returning to action for last night's 4-1 triumph over the Detroit Red Wings. He made 23 saves and had his shutout streak end at a career-high 165 minutes and six seconds when he gave up a second-period tally.

Blake Comeau and Patric Hornqvist each tallied a goal and an assist and David Perron and Nick Spaling also scored for the Penguins, who are a point behind the New York Islanders for first place in the Metropolitan Division.

Comeau's goal came in his return from an upper-body injury as he had been out since Dec. 22.

"I was just in the right spot," said Comeau. "I got back in the game and got the nerves out of me."

The Senators kick off a five-game residency hoping to build off Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Ottawa had scored just three goals over a three- game losing streak, but Robin Lehner's 35 saves made sure that two scores were enough versus the Sabres.

Milan Michalek had the game-winning goal in the third period and Erik Karlsson also lit the lamp.

"We got the win," said Senators coach Dave Cameron. "We've been playing reasonably well and it's good to get the win. We found a way to win a hockey game on the road and that's the bottom line."

Senators forward Bobby Ryan (lower body) was scratched in favor of Jean- Gabriel Pageau and his status for this game is unknown.

Lehner is expected to start again tonight and is 1-0-0 with a 1.27 goals against average and .943 save percentage in two games (1 start) versus Pittsburgh.

It is unknown if Fleury go on back-to-back nights or if Greiss will make another start.

The Penguins have won five of their past seven versus the Senators, including a 3-2 victory at home on Dec. 6 in the first of three meetings this season. Fleury made 27 saves in that win.
