The Golden State Warriors will close out a four-game road trip Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center.
The Warriors are 2-1 on the trip and escaped south Philly with an 89-84 victory over the 76ers Monday night, as they erased an eight-point deficit early in the second quarter.
Stephen Curry led the visitors with 20 points, Leandro Barbosa posted 16 off the bench and both Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala netted 13 points for Golden State, which registered 35 points on 27 turnovers and won for the fifth time in the last six tries.
"We did enough to get the win and that's the most important part," said Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
Golden State had scored 100 or more points in 21 consecutive games, but still leads the NBA with 110.0 ppg and is first in field goal percentage (48.1).
The Warriors will close their road trip Wednesday night and have an 18-7 record as the guest. They are 25-7 against teams from the West and have delivered a record of .500 or better in 11 of the past 14 road trips of at least three games since the beginning of the 2012-13 campaign.
Thompson needs just four 3-pointers to pass Jason Richardson (700) for second in Warriors history. Draymond Green (ankle) will miss Wednesday's game in Minnesota and is averaging 11.2 points and 8.2 rebounds.
Golden State will host San Antonio after the All-Star break.
Minnesota opened a three-game homestand with Monday's 117-105 loss to the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks.
Kevin Martin paced the T-wolves with 21 points, Shabazz Muhammad added 18 and rookie Andrew Wiggins finished with 15 points. Nikola Pekovic tallied 14 points and eight rebounds for Minnesota, which had won a season-high three games in a row and fell to 6-20 at home.
"They can suck energy out of you, how they play," Wolves coach Flip Saunders said of the Hawks. "There's a reason why they have the best record in the league."
Muhammad returned to the Wolves after missing the previous 16 games with an oblique injury.
The Timberwolves are only 4-9 in their last 13 games and will close the homestand versus Phoenix after All-Star festivities.
Minnesota was busy on Tuesday and acquired guard Gary Neal and a second-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft from Charlotte in exchange for veteran guard Mo Williams, guard Troy Daniels and cash considerations. The Wolves also landed forward Adreian Payne from Atlanta in exchange for a conditional first-round choice in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Golden State has defeated Minnesota twice this season and the two teams will meet again April 11 in Oakland. The Warriors have won 16 of the last 19 encounters in this series.
