Belinelli's late shot helps Popovich get 1,000th win

The San Antonio Spurs used a fourth quarter comeback and some late heroics to make Gregg Popovich's 1,000th win a memorable one.

Marco Belinelli hit a go-ahead jumper with 2.1 seconds left and the Spurs edged the Indiana Pacers 95-93 on Monday night.

Popovich, who became the ninth coach to reach the milestone, is the third fastest and the second to accomplish the feat with one team. Phil Jackson reached the mark in 1,423 games, Pat Riley in 1,434 and Popovich got there in 1,462.

One of Popovich's previous players could've prevented win No. 1,000 from happening, but George Hill's straightaway 3-pointer at the horn clanked off the right side of the rim.

San Antonio outscored Indiana 30-14 in the final frame after trailing by 14 at the end of three.
