The San Antonio Spurs had a winning streak snapped last time out, but they'll try and get back into the win column Wednesday night when they welcome the Orlando Magic to AT&T Center.
The defending champion Spurs had won three straight until a 105-85 home drubbing at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers. Still, San Antonio has won seven of its previous nine and is 3-1 on a six-game homestand, which ends Friday versus the Miami Heat.
On Saturday, the Clippers came to Alamo City and dusted the Spurs, 105-85.
"Tonight, in the areas of execution and competitiveness, we were beaten badly in both regards," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. "At the same time, we didn't play very smart."
Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points, Danny Green gave 16 and Tony Parker had eight assists in the loss.
The Spurs shot just 37.3 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from long range. They committed 17 turnovers, which led to 23 Clippers points and handed out just 18 assists.
Chris Paul scored the game's first five points and the Clippers led from the jump, only falling behind for 29 seconds after Manu Ginobili's jumper gave the Spurs a 22-21 edge late in the first quarter. Los Angeles answered with the next six points and never trailed again after that.
The Magic have been a disaster of late, losing nine in a row, including four consecutive road games.
On Monday, Orlando fell in Oklahoma City, 104-97, to the Thunder.
Victor Oladipo clocked in with 22 points and Nikola Vucevic had 20 for the Magic. Tobias Harris finished with 18, followed by 13 from Willie Green and 11 from Kyle O'Quinn off the bench.
Oklahoma City kept Orlando at arm's length while taking a 61-50 lead into the break.
Oklahoma City's lead ballooned to as many as 22 on a Serge Ibaka triple that made the score 82-60 with 2:09 left in the third, and the Thunder were ahead 82-67 heading to the fourth.
Green sank three straight triples down the stretch for Orlando, which snapped to attention too late to make a legitimate comeback.
"There are no moral victories, but I'm proud of the fight we had," Green said.
According to reports, Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn is on the hot seat. He began his coaching career as an assistant under Popovich.
The Spurs have won six straight against Orlando and five in a row as the host in this series.
