MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- The U.S. Soccer Federation on Wednesday suspended Olympic goaltender Hope Solo for 30 days amid recent legal troubles.

"During our current national team camp, Hope made a poor decision that has resulted in a negative impact on U.S. Soccer and her teammates," said U.S. Coach Jill Ellis. "We feel at this time it is best for her to step away from the team."

The federation declined to provide details about what exactly prompted the suspension, but it may stem from her husband's arrest Monday.

Jerramy Stevens, Solo's husband, was arrested around 1 a.m. Monday in Manhattan Beach, Calif., for allegedly driving under the influence. Solo was in the vehicle with Stevens at the time, though she faced no legal trouble.

Still, she was on U.S. Soccer Federation duty at the time of the incident, something the organization could look down upon. She and Stevens were in Manhattan Beach specifically for the team's camp.

In 2014, the federation was criticized for not disciplining Solo after she was arrested for domestic violence. She was accused of allegedly striking her sister and nephew.

The case was dismissed last week.

Solo is expected to miss national team matches against France and England next month due to the suspension. Pending a review from Ellis and the federation, she'll be eligible to return to the team in 30 days.
