Milwaukee Bucks' Sanders gets drug suspension

Milwaukee Bucks forward Larry Sanders has been voluntarily sitting out since last month and will remain sidelined for at least the near future, albeit for league-imposed reasons.

Sanders was suspended a minimum of 10 games Friday for violating the terms of the NBA's anti-drug program. He will remain suspended until he is in full compliance with his treatment program, the league said.

The Bucks have been without the enigmatic Sanders since he left the team due to personal reasons in late December.

Sanders, 26, earned a hefty raise following a breakout season in 2012-13, signing a four-year deal through 2017-18. the former first-round draft pick played in just 23 games last season due to injuries and was mostly ineffective in 27 games this season.

The 6-foot-11 forward was suspended one game in December for a flagrant foul against Portland's Nicolas Batum and was averaging 7.3 points and 6.1 rebounds before leaving the team.
