Oregon players face discipline for 'No means no' victory chant at Jameis Winston

By Matt Bradwell

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- University of Oregon head football coach Mark Helfrich will discipline members of his team for chanting "'no means no'" following the Ducks' Rose Bowl victory over Florida State on New Year's Day.

After routing Florida State 59-20 in the Rose Bowl to win the right to face Ohio State in the National Championship, several Oregon players began chanting "no means no" to the Seminole "Warchant," directly alluding to the series of sexual assault allegations against Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.

In a statement to the press, Coach Helfrich confirmed he saw the taunting and will take action against the players involved.

"We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame," Helfrich said in a statement.

"This is not what our program stands for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally."
