The Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Derek Roy from the Nashville Predators and gave up young forward Mark Arcobello in return.

Roy had been placed on waivers Sunday, then cleared Monday and apparently was assigned to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League before the deal was announced.

He struggled to one goal and nine assists in 26 games for the club after totaling 37 points in 75 games for the Blues last season.

Arcobello contributed seven goals and 12 points in 36 games to an Oilers club which sports the worst record in the NHL at 7-22-7. The Yale product totaled 11 goals and 19 assists over 78 games in parts of three seasons with Edmonton.
