"Prince" LeBron James shines in AAU tournament

HOUSTON, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- His repertoire of smooth moves and court vision are reminiscent of a certain someone on the basketball court, but at nine-years old, LeBron James Jr. is making a name for himself.

As a member of the nationally-ranked 10-and-under Gulf Coast Blue Chips "Bronny" led his teammates to a championship victory in the Ronald Searles Holiday Classic this weekend in Houston.

Buzzing by in his florescent yellow and green basketball threads, Bronny prompted his dad to proudly send a flurry of tweets complete with pictures of his little star shooting, passing, and tricking defenders with a killer crossover.

I see you Bronny! Do work. That 0 look good on you. Looking like "Russelmania" @russwest44. Cook! #JamesGang #StriveForGreatness

One of LeBron's Instagram posts from the bleachers even compared Bronny in his No. 0 jersey to Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook.

LeBron Jr. is a natural scorer, as last year his father noted on Instagram, following his sons performance of 25 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds. The King also compared his son to then-teammate and current Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade.

Kentucky's John Calipari watched LeBron Jr. play in a tournament in Lexington this summer, while Ohio State's Thad Matta said that Bronny will be "on his recruiting radar."
