NCAA Game Summary - Youngstown State vs. UNC Greensboro

Marcus Keene posted a game-high 28 points as the Youngstown State Penguins dismissed the Spartans of UNC Greensboro, 76-67, during the final day of the EMU Showcase at the EMU Convocation Center.

Keene converted 6-of-8 shots behind the 3-point line and was a perfect 6-of-6 at the charity stripe for the Penguins (3-3) as they posted their second win in a row. Bobby Hain contributed 20 points and nine rebounds, his efforts on the glass second only to Shawn Amiker who pulled down 10 boards and tallied nine points. DJ Cole handed out nine assists for YSU.

The Spartans (1-4), losers of four in a row since defeating Chowan (76-62) in the season opener, were led by RJ White who registered a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Tevon Saddler and Nicholas Paulos with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Youngstown State, which led by as many as 10 points in the first half while shooting 5-of-11 beyond the arc, actually trailed at the break by two points, 34-32, even as UNCG failed to get to the free-throw line through the first 20 minutes of action.

In the second half the Penguins feasted at the stripe (18-of-21) in order to pull away for the nine-point victory.

Not only did YSU make good on 9-of-20 out on the perimeter on the afternoon, the squad also outscored the Spartans at the free-throw line, 21-7.
