NCAA Game Summary - UNC Wilmington at VMI

Freddie Jackson scored 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the UNC Wilmington Seahawks to a 110-93 victory over the VMI Keydets in a non-conference tilt at Cameron Hall.

For the Seahawks (2-1), Cedrick Williams also posted a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds while adding five blocks. Addison Spruill finished with 20 points, Malik Pugh scored 16 and dished out six assists and Craig Ponder chipped in with 10 points.

QJ Peterson led the Keydets (2-2) with 27 points but committed seven turnovers, while Tim Marshall finished with 17 points and Brian Brown tallied 16 points.

The Seahawks scored the final six points of the first half and went into halftime with the narrowest of leads, 46-45. They connected on 52.6 percent of their shots from the field, but did miss both of their 3-point attempts in the half. The Keydets stayed close with strong shooting from deep, as they drained 7-of-15 from beyond the arc, part of a 46.7 percent shooting performance in the opening period.

The Seahawks shot a scorching 65.9 percent from the field after intermission, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range. The Keydets made 47.1 percent of their field goal tries in the second and 6-of-14 from 3-point distance. The Seahawks opened the second half on a 9-0 run to build a double-digit lead. The Keydets got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.

The Seahawks completely dominated down low, finishing with an eye-popping 84-34 scoring advantage in the paint.
