HOUSTON, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Adrian Peterson has been indicted for injury to a child.
The 29-year-old Minnesota Vikings running back is charged with reckless or negligent injury to a child in Montgomery County, Texas. NFL Insider Jay Glazer reports Peterson is cooperating with authorities after being ordered to turn himself in.
People connected to the NFL star tell TMZ the alleged victim is an 11-year-old male from Minnesota, and visited Peterson's home in Texas in May. The child's mother noticed injuries upon her son's return home, and took him to a doctor who contacted authorities. A source tells NFL Insider Ian Rapoport the child was allegedly disciplined with a switch.
Matt Vensel of The Star Tribune says Peterson was at practice as usual on Friday. The running back's status in the Vikings game on Sunday is currently undecided.
