DETROIT, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Detroit Lions defensive end Ndamukong Suh is the latest, and arguably highest profile, NFL athlete to sign with Jay Z owned entertainment management company Roc Nation.

The 27-year-old Pro Bowler joins wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz and Jets quarterback Geno Smith on Roc Nation's star studded sports management roster that also includes Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano and NBA superstar Kevin Durant, among others.

In December 2013, Roc Nation successfully cost the Seattle Mariners $40 million, getting the team to raise its $200 million contract offer to Robinson Cano to $240 million -- earning Cano the third largest contract in Major League history.

In August, the sports arm of Jay Z's entertainment company orchestrated a bidding war between Nike and Under Armor for Kevin Durant's continued endorsement. Those talks ended with Nike granting Durant a 10-year contract that could be worth over $300 million.

Houston Texans defensive tackle JJ Watt signed a record-setting six-year $100 million contract to start the NFL season, a deal Roc Nation will undoubtedly be aiming to top as Suh's current deal with the Lions is set to expire after the 2014 season.
