PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is at the center of unwanted attention after writing in a $0.20 tip on a $60 restaurant tab on Monday.

The photo, uploaded to restaurant and bar PYT's Facebook page, showed McCoy's clearly deliberate slight as he fully filled out the receipt, properly totaled the bill and signed it.

The photo triggered emotional reactions against both McCoy for the tip and PYT -- which, incidentally, is short for "Pay Your Tab," the bar and restaurant's full name -- for publicly blasting the 2013 NFL rushing champion over something as innocent as being rude tipper.

PYT's owner set out to correct the record Tuesday afternoon, releasing a statement on the restaurant's Facebook page admitting he decided to upload the receipt.

"I take total and complete responsibility for sharing this receipt," Tommy Up wrote on Facebook, adding, "It was not our server's decision, it was mine. I am to blame."

"I decided to take action after some serious thought. And while I'd like to apologize to Mr McCoy, I cannot in good conscience do so. I stand by my actions one hundred percent.

He and his group, from the moment they sat down, were verbally abusive to our staff in the most insulting ways. The derogatory statements about women and their sheer contempt for the staff serving them wasn't the end, however. After Mr McCoy and his group left I looked over and saw their server, my friend, with his head bowed down and with a very confused look on his face. I took the receipt out of his hand and I couldn't believe that anyone could be so callous. Mr McCoy had left a .03% tip for our staff. Our staff that was beyond excited to see him walk into our burger joint and was excited to serve him. That's twenty cents on a tab of over $60. Twenty cents that our server has to split with the food runner and the bartender. Two dimes from an insulting multimillionaire."

To avoid this fiasco in the future, UPI has put together a handy guide to teach McCoy how to tip properly.

When Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News asked McCoy about the incident, the Eagle wrote it off with an expletive. Bowen was able to uncover that McCoy was unhappy about the service and the Eagles front office is disappointed with how he handled the situation.
