PITTSBURGH, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown may face NFL fines for his highlight reel flying kick to Browns punter Spencer Lanning's face during Sunday's win at Heinz field.

Up 17-3 in the second quarter, Brown kicked Lanning in the face in an apparent attempt to jump over him, en route to a 46-yard punt return to set up a Le'Veon Bell rushing touchdown.

"No intent to hurt him," Brown told the media after the game.

"I had my mind made up that he was going over me. I thought he was going low and I tried to leap over him. It was just a bad outcome of a play."

Referees charged Brown with unnecessary roughness for the fly-kick and issued a 15-yard penalty to the Steelers.

When asked if he anticipates being fined, Brown told reporters "We'll see," and reiterated his lack of malice, saying, "I had no intent of hurting anybody."

League officials are currently reviewing the play to determine if further disciplinary action is appropriate.

Brown finished the day with 166 receiving yards and a touchdown as the Steelers beat the Browns 30-27.
