Reus out one month with ankle injury

Borussia Dortmund will be without winger Marco Reus for the next month after the Germany international suffered an ankle injury in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Sunday.

Reus limped off the field late in Germany's 2-1 win over Scotland on Sunday after being involved in a challenge with Charlie Mulgrew, and he was replaced by Matthias Ginter.

The 25-year-old missed the World Cup because of a partially torn ligament in his left ankle, and according to Dortmund, he will spend the next four weeks rehabbing the injury, meaning he will miss Champions League matches with Arsenal and Anderlecht as well as Bundesliga fixtures against Freiburg, Mainz, Stuttgart, Schalke and Hamburg.

Reus was one of the standout players for Dortmund last season, netting 16 goals with 13 assists, and manager Jurgen Klopp will hope the arrival of Shinji Kagawa just before the close of the summer transfer window will help to offset the absence of Reus.
