White Sox bring up 7 players

The Chicago White Sox promoted seven players on Tuesday as part of the team's September call-ups.

They recalled pitchers Chris Bassitt, Scott Carroll and Eric Surkamp, outfielder Jordan Danks, infielder Marcus Semien and catcher Josh Phegley from Triple-A Charlotte.

They purchased the contract of outfielder Michael Taylor from Charlotte.

Semien hit .218 with seven doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI over 43 games with Chicago earlier this season. Danks had an average of .190 with two homers an nine RBI in 33 games.

Carroll compiled a 5-9 record with a 5.07 earned run average over 22 games (16 starts) with the White Sox this season, while Surkamp went 1-0 with a 6.91 ERA during 23 relief appearances.
