LOS ANGELES, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- After a months long battle with disgraced former owner Donald Sterling, Steve Ballmer has officially been announced as the new owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.
"When I say that we are Clippers, now, it means something," coach Doc Rivers told fans at a rally to introduce Ballmer at the Staples center.
Ballmer easily matched and surpassed Rivers' enthusiasm, screaming "I love Los Angeles" at the top of his lungs, throwing around high fives and and even giving out his personal contact information.
"We're going to be bold," Ballmer promised.

"Bold doesn't mean everything changes. Bold means you're willing to take risks...if you're not being bold, you're being timid. And the L.A. Clippers are going to be bold," he said.
Ballmer then made his first bold move, promising to deliver Clippers fans "many" more NBA championships than Sterling's regime -- a high immediate bar to set for his personnel, but by no means impossible; under Sterling the Clippers failed to ever make the NBA Finals, let alone compete for a title.
"The Clippers will win many, many, many, many more 'Larry's' in the next 26 (years) than the past 26 (years)!"
