Beau Baldwin made his head coaching debut with Eastern Washington University against Texas Tech in 2008.

His Eagles will make their second trip to Lubbock, Texas, on Sept. 2, 2017 in an announcement made jointly by the two schools on Tuesday.

"We look forward to again playing in Lubbock and in the state of Texas," EWU athletic director Bill Chaves said. "We have been fortunate to be able to schedule the majority of our FBS games against Pacific Northwest opponents in recent years, but this will allow the program an opportunity to expand its reach while playing a tremendous opponent."

EWU lost to Texas Tech, 49-24, on Aug. 30, 2008, in Baldwin's first game with the Eagles.

This season, EWU will play in college football's first game when it hosts Sam Houston State on Aug. 23.
