Bulls reach deal with Brooks

The Chicago Bulls have brought in another veteran to their backcourt mix, signing guard Aaron Brooks to an undisclosed contract on Tuesday.

The move comes one day after the team announced the re-signing of guard Kirk Hinrich to a reported two-year deal.

Brooks has averaged 11.1 points and 3.4 assists over six NBA seasons and split the 2013-14 campaign between Houston and Denver. In 72 overall games last season, the 29-year-old averaged 9.0 points and 3.2 assists while shooting 38.7 percent from 3-point range.

The speedy 6-footer put up 19.6 points per game during his first tenure with the Rockets in 2009-10, Brooks' third season in the league.

Brooks will provide insurance to a Chicago backcourt that has had 2010-11 NBA MVP Derrick Rose limited to just 10 games by a pair of knee injuries over the past two seasons.
