Arceneaux, Willis, Maher named CFL's top players

British Columbia wide receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux, Edmonton Eskimos defensive end Odell Willis and Ottawa RedBlacks kicker Brett Maher were selected as the top players for Week 4 of the CFL season.

Arceneaux was named the Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in eight receptions for 145 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in the Lions' 41-5 win over the visiting Montreal Alouettes.

Willis garnered Defensive Player of the Week following his one sack and interception return for a TD performance in a 26-3 win over Winnipeg. He is currently tied for second in the CFL with four sacks on the season.

This marks back-to-back weeks that an Edmonton defensive lineman has won the Defensive Player of the Week. Almondo Sewell won the award last week.

Maher was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. He was a perfect 6-for-6 on field goals and scored all his team's points in their historic first game at TD Place -- an 18-17 decision over the Toronto Argonauts that marked the expansion club's first-ever win.

With under a minute to play in the game, Maher hit a 27-yard field goal to give the RedBlacks the lead for good. Maher also kicked successful field goals from 48, 32, 30, 26 and 22 yards away.
