Tom Watson closed with a 4-under 68 on Sunday and was one of those going low early in the final round of the Open Championship.
The five-time Open champion rallied to finish at 1-over-par 289 for the championship. Watson's 68 wasn't even the best among the early finishers.
England's Chris Wood finished with four straight birdies en route to a 7-under 65, which matched the low round of the week. That helped Wood end the championship at 5-under-par 283.
The 2013 Qatar Masters winner had birdies at the fourth, eighth and 10th to reach 1-under for the championship. After four pars in a row, Wood poured in four straight birdies walk off the course tied for 13th at 5-under 283.
Along with Watson and Wood's low round, there have been three 65s by 2000 Open Championship runner-up Thomas Bjorn, Byron Nelson winner Brendon Todd and Koumei Oda.
World No. 2 Henrik Stenson and 2009 Open champion Stewart Cink carded 3-under 69s on Sunday.
Of the first 24 players that have completed their rounds, 16 have broken par.
Meanwhile, three-time Open champion Tiger Woods struggled to a 3-over 75. He finished at 6-over 294, and will post his worst finish in a major as a professional. The only time he was worse was when he shared 82nd at the 1996 U.S. Open as an amateur.
