The Washington Nationals were able to reach an agreement with their 2014 first-round draft pick, UNLV right-hander Erick Fedde, just prior to Friday's signing deadline.
According to MLB.com, Fedde will receive a $2.51 million signing bonus. The Las Vegas native was selected with the 18th overall choice in last month's draft.
Fedde had been considered a potential top-10 pick before being forced to undergo Tommy John surgery in June.
Prior to the injury, Fedde earned 2014 Mountain West Pitcher of the Year honors after compiling an 8-2 record with a 1.76 ERA in 11 starts with the Rebels.
The 21-year-old was a teammate of Nationals outfielder and 2012 National League Rookie of the Year Bryce Harper while at Las Vegas High School.
