Molina, who was placed on the disabled list and is expected to be out roughly 2-to-3 months after tearing thumb ligaments, was voted by fans as a starter.

Montero is hitting .265 with 11 home runs, 13 doubles and 52 RBI through 83 games for the NL West franchise.

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy will be the starting replacement for Molina after being elected to the team via the player ballot. He is batting a scorching .323 with nine homers and 44 RBI in 85 contests.
