Boston beats Chicago in the battle of the Sox

Pinch-hitter Mike Carp connected on a run- scoring single in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, on Thursday.

Pinch-hitter Mike Carp connected on a run- scoring single in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, on Thursday.

Daniel Nava walked to begin the 10th and advanced to second on a Mookie Betts sacrifice bunt before Ronald Belisario (3-6) intentionally walked Stephen Drew.

Carp, who was activated from the disabled list at the beginning of the week, then ended an 0-for-19 streak with a grounder to left, scoring Nava, who slid in ahead of the throw.

The Red Sox concluded this four-game set with consecutive walk-off wins to earn a split.
