Marlins activate Eovaldi from paternity leave

The Miami Marlins activated pitcher Nathan Eovaldi from the paternity list on Wednesday.

Eovaldi is 4-2 with a 3.50 ERA in 14 starts this season.

The right-hander started Friday against the Pirates and allowed six runs on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings. He then flew home to Texas on Sunday to be with his wife, Rebekah, who was scheduled to be induced later that day.

To make room, the team optioned pitcher Sam Dyson to Triple-A New Orleans.
