4 World Cup teams are banned from having sex during games

Researchers have found that intimate activity does not have any negative impact on athletic performance, but some countries still mandate their players remain celibate during the games.

SAO PAULO, June 18 (UPI) -- Four World Cup teams cannot have sex during the games as some coaches believe it harms athletic performance.

Quartz produced a chart that shows players from Russia, Chile, Mexico, and Bosnia and Herzegovina are required to remain celibate while they play in the World Cup. Germany, Spain, the U.S., Australia, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Uruguay and England are permitted to have sex during the tournament; although players from Germany and Spain are told not to have sex the night before a game.

The other countries participating either have "complicated" rules about sex restrictions or the coaches would not divulge their policies. Despite scientific evidence proving otherwise, some teams still hold on to the superstition.
