Wohl named new Clippers GM

The Los Angeles Clippers named Dave Wohl their new general manager on Monday.

Wohl served as the club's director of professional scouting last season. Prior to that, the 64-year-old was an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2009-11, assistant GM for the Boston Celtics from 2007-09 and an assistant coach with Boston from 2004-07. He began his front office career as executive vice president of basketball operations for the Miami Heat from 1995-97.

The Penn product also spent two-plus seasons as head coach of the New Jersey Nets from 1985-87, going 65-114.

In addition, the Clippers announced that head coach Doc Rivers will add the title of president of basketball operations.

Rivers' assistant, Kevin Eastman, was elevated to vice president of basketball operations and Jud Winton was added to the basketball operations staff as director of analytics.
