Cubs activate OF Ruggiano from DL

The Chicago Cubs activated outfielder Justin Ruggiano from the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Ryan Kalish to Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

A strained left hamstring shelved Ruggiano in late April. He batted .229 (8- for-35) in 14 games prior to the month-long DL stint.

Kalish made the Cubs' Opening Day roster and hit .242 with four RBI over 39 games.
