Veteran jockey Rafael Bejarano, who suffered multiple injuries in a recent racing accident, is home recuperating after being released from Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.
"Grateful to have a new opportunity to live and realize who my real friends are," Bejarano said in a FaceBook posting.

The 32-year-old rider was injured on May 10 in the fourth race at Santa Anita when his mount, Gameboy Luke, went down entering the stretch of a 6 1/2- furlong turf race.
Bejarano has a broken collarbone, two broken scapulas and four broken ribs.
This year, Bejarano has won 98 races from 413 mounts for $4,922,434.
