Indians place McAllister on DL

The Cleveland Indians placed pitcher Zach McAllister on the 15-day disabled list among a slew of roster moves prior to Thursday's matchup with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Tribe also recalled pitcher T.J. House from Triple-A Columbus, selected the contract of pitcher Mark Lowe from Columbus, optioned pitcher Kyle Crockett to Columbus and transferred outfielder Nyjer Morgan from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL.

McAllister landed on the disabled list due to a lower back strain. The 26- year-old right-hander went 3-4 with a 5.89 earned run average over 10 starts prior to being shelved.

House made his Major League debut on May 17 and spun a scoreless inning in relief, while the veteran Lowe, who's yet to appear in a game with the Indians this season, went 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA over 16 games at Columbus.

Crockett's first big league outing came on May 16 against the Oakland Athletics. The 22-year-old left-hander allowed just one run on two hits in 4 1/3 innings over three games.

Morgan was placed on the 15-day DL one week ago with a sprained right knee. He batted .341 with one home run, six RBI and eight runs scored over 15 games prior to the injury.
