MILWAUKEE, May 21 (UPI) -- Mallory Edens has joined the likes of Pippa Middleton and Katherine Webb, who became overnight celebrities after well-received television appearances.
Edens, the 18-year-old daughter of Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wesley Edens, served as the team's designated representative during the NBA draft lottery in New York City on Tuesday.
"I was really nervous but really happy to get the second pick," she told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I was extremely nervous but it was really fun."
Edens was so telegenic, however, that she stole the show, racking up tens of thousands of new Twitter followers in little more than half an hour.
I'll say it. Mallory Edens is a star. #bucks
