The NHL fined Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton $2,820 on Sunday for squirting Montreal defenseman P.K. Subban in the face with water during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
No penalty was assessed after Thornton sprayed Subban from the bench in the final minute of Boston's 4-2 win on Sunday, which gave the Bruins a 3-2 lead in the series.
