Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Charlotte Bobcats center Al Jefferson will miss Monday night's Game 4 of the team's Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Miami Heat due to a lingering foot injury.
Jefferson strained the plantar fascia in his left foot in the first quarter of Game 1 and didn't participate in Monday's shootaround.
"He's not close to where he was for the last two games," Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford said.
Jefferson, the team's leading scorer and rebounder, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Bismack Biyombo.
"It's the worst pain I've ever dealt with in my career," Jefferson said.
Biyombo has played just 15 minutes in the playoffs and scored one point.
Miami leads the best-of-seven first-round series 3-0.
