The news for the Dodgers could have been worse. Shortstop Hanley Ramirez left the game after he was hit on the outside of his left hand by a Ryan Vogelsong pitch leading off the seventh inning, but X-rays taken during the game came back negative.

Buster Posey also had an RBI single for the Giants, who won the opener of the three-game series 3-2 on Tuesday on Hector Sanchez's RBI single in the 12th inning.

The Giants are 4-1 in the season series.

Dee Gordon drove in the Dodgers run with a triple off Vogelsong in the sixth inning that scored Los Angeles starter Paul Maholm. The Dodgers have dropped the first two games of the series after sweeping Arizona to start a six-game road trip.
