Evans, who also grabbed six rebounds, was coming off the best game of his career when he went for 41 points, nine boards and eight assists in a win over Oklahoma City on Monday.

Austin Rivers, who was ejected from the Thunder win following a second-quarter altercation with Nick Collison, donated 18 points and eight assists for the Pelicans. Anthony Morrow had 15 points off the bench.

The Pelicans (34-48) won their final two games after dropping eight straight.

Houston had already locked up the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference and rested starters James Harden and Chandler Parsons for this one. Troy Daniels paced the Rockets with a career-high 22 points in his first start of the season.

The Rockets will host the Portland Trail Blazers in the opening round of the playoffs.
