Report: Kaepernick investigated for possible sexual assault

(SportsNetwork.com) - San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is reportedly being investigated for a possible sexual assault in Miami.

According to celebrity gossip website TMZ.com, the alleged incident took place at the Viceroy Hotel earlier this month. The website cited sources as saying no charges have yet been filed and the investigation is in its early stages.

The 49ers responded to TMZ Sports with a statement saying the club is "in the process of gathering the pertinent facts."

Kaepernick led the 49ers to the Super Bowl after the 2012 season and to the NFC Championship Game last season.
