"Kris was cleared by doctors and it was his choice on when to return," Penguins general manager Ray Shero said. "He's been bugging me for a while to play."
Letang last played for the Penguins on Jan. 27 versus Buffalo.
A Norris Trophy finalist a year ago, Letang has 10 goals and eight assists in 34 games this season.
