Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Paul Martin will make his long-awaited return to the lineup as his club takes on the Winnipeg Jets.
Pens head coach Dan Byslma confirmed the news following a Thursday practice session.
Martin had been sidelined since early February after suffering a broken hand while playing for Team USA at the Olympics.
Martin missed the last two games of the tournament for the Americans, who came away without a medal after falling to Canada in the semifinals and losing the bronze medal game to Finland.
Prior to this latest setback, the 33-year-old Minnesotan totaled two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 33 games this season. He missed 23 games earlier this season with a broken tibia.
