Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo left Thursday's contest against the Carolina Hurricanes after the first period with an undisclosed injury.
Carolina forward Radek Dvorak crashed hard into Luongo on a shot attempt with just over seven minutes left in the opening period. Dvorak was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for charging, while Luongo finished out the period before being replaced by Dan Ellis at the outset of the second.

Luongo stopped 11-of-12 shots prior to his exit.
