Holy Cross seeks turnaround in 2014

Worcester, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - After two straight losing seasons, the Holy Cross football program hopes to get back on track this year in a 12-game schedule announced on Thursday.

The Patriot League school will play five home games. Coach Tom Gilmore's squad finished 3-9 last year and going 2-9 in 2012.

After opening the season at Albany on Aug. 30, Holy Cross will host Morgan State (Sept. 6) and Central Connecticut State (Sept. 13) in back-to-back games.

The Crusaders will kick off league play by hosting Fordham on Sept. 27, which also is their Homecoming Day. They also have home league games against Lehigh (Nov. 8) and Bucknell (Nov. 15).

Holy Cross will play a road game at Harvard on Sept. 19 and four straight against Patriot rival Colgate (Oct. 4), Brown (Oct. 11), Dartmouth (Oct. 18) and defending Patriot champ Lafayette (Oct. 25). The Crusaders will end the regular season on Nov. 22 with a league game at Georgetown.
