Virginia Military tops Ohio 92-90

Rodney Glasgow also came up huge for VMI (22-12) as he netted 30 points on 11- of-19 shooting from the floor. Brian Brown chipped in 10 points and Q.J. Peterson pulled down nine boards for the Keydets, who will advance to face an opponent that is yet to be determined.

The Bobcats (25-12) came up short despite stellar outings by Nick Kellogg and Maurice Ndour. Kellogg hit on 6-of-10 attempts from 3-point range en route to 30 points, while Ndour tallied 26 points and seven rebounds. Javarez Willis contributed 13 points and six assists in the season-ending loss.

Ohio made good on 55.9 percent of its field goal tries, including a 4-of-13 clip from beyond the arc in the opening period. VMI was limited to just 32.4 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half and went into the intermission trailing, 46-39, despite converting 11-of-12 attempts at the free-throw line before the break.

The Keydets heated up to sink 67.9 percent of their shots from the field in the second stanza, while the Bobcats hit on 55.2 percent from the floor. VMI went on a 16-8 run to take an 81-70 lead by the 5:30 mark of the second half and managed to stay in front the rest of the way.

The Keydets enjoyed a 37-30 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored Ohio, 21-11, at the charity stripe in the contest.
