Michael Phelps announced his retirement from swimming after a successful London Olympics in 2012, winning a record 22 Olympic medals during his career. But the 28-year-old's longtime coach, Bob Bowman, recently told the Baltimore Sun that Phelps could be eyeing a return to competitive swimming "sometime soon."

“He looks like he is definitely in shape," Bowman said.

There are two Grand Prix swimming events in April and May of this year, with the U.S. Championships coming up in Irvine, Calif., in August.

Phelps has often been spotted at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club and registered with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s drug testing pool last year.
